Yash Charitable Trust Hiring For Senior Counsellor at Juhu, Mumbai, Maharashtra Full Time

Yash Charitable Trust (YCT) was established in 2014 with the vision that adults with developmental disabilities such as autism, Down Syndrome and other intellectual disabilities live and work in the community of their choice with dignity and self-respect. To that end, the programs offered by YCT focus on training and providing livelihood opportunities, and other mental health support through therapies and counselling.

YCT is now looking for a dedicated Senior Counsellor for the vertical of the Adult Support Kendra (ASK). The candidate should understand and embrace the vision and mission of the NGO and maintain a track record and provide reports on a regular basis for all the work done. The specifics of the role can be found below:

Job Responsibilities:

Counselling

• Provide counseling support to individuals and their families. This may be in an individual and group format. This may be in person or virtual as the case may be

Awareness and Outreach

• To plan and schedule seminars, workshops towards increasing awareness about the support needs for adults and their families
• To oversee the management of the ASK social media page in consultation with the YCT media consultants
• To oversee the addition to the directory of resources for families of PwIDD along with the junior counsellor

Employment Support Services

• Consult with the employment support services coordinator and help to generate potential opportunities to explore
• Ensure that all data related to employment support services is maintained accurately and, in a time, bound manner

Other Responsibilities

• To work closely with ASK Consultants on all program related matters
• Be responsible to the Operation Manager, YCT for all administrative matters including collating data and outcomes and reporting-documentation as required

Minimum Qualifications:

Post-graduate degree in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology with a minimum of five years of experience. Additional certifications will be considered. Preference will be given to applicants with training in Narrative Practices.

Essential Skills Required:

• Must have good written, verbal and presentation skills (English and Hindi language at a minimum)
• Organisational skills, ability to multitask, time management skills
• Skills in handling and leading teams
• Willingness to travel

Remuneration:

The salary and benefits package will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and qualifications and as per industry standards.
