The Job

• Support the Principal in administration and setting the direction for CPAT in line with the vision of the TVS Educational Society.
• Work with the team to ensure excellence in the teaching-learning systems and processes
• Manage and Develop a highly motivated and energetic faculty to perform at their best
• Take total responsibility for the academic development of students in the First Year of the program
• Create a learning climate that encourages student’s to achieve excellence according to their abilities.
• Emphasize the practice of values and ethics in professional and personal life
• Induct and mentor new members of the faculty
• Ensure that the established systems and processes for teaching and learning are adhered to by all the faculty
• Continually evaluate teacher performance and the quality of teaching and learning standards and provide appropriate inputs when needed.
• Create and maintain a positive and rewarding climate which enhances staff morale, teamwork and enables individual teachers and support staff to grow in their roles .
• Build linkages with the industries in order to expand the in-plant training base and placement of the students in top notch industries.
• Ensure that the school builds a strong sense of community through building positive and supportive relationships with students, teachers and parents.
• Understand and articulate the vision of the school through discussions, conference papers and dissemination to staff, parents and students
• Liaise with the statutory and regulatory authorities

THE PERSON

Must

• Have a vision to set and achieve high standards of excellence in technical education
• Build, lead and inspire a team of multi-skilled people committed to this vision of excellence
• Have developed an excellent program in any technical area
• Be well informed of the various schemes and packages offered by the government.
• Detailed knowledge of the Board and DOTE requirements as applicable to polytechnic programs
• Have a commitment towards the betterment of the community
• Have a sense of fairness and compassion
• Be between 40-45 years of age
• Have a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics with a minimum of 15 years teaching experience of which at least 5 years at the level of HOD in a reputed Engineering College.
• Persons with above academic qualification and 3-4 years of industry experience at managerial level in a manufacturing industry will be given preference.
