Titagarh Hiring For Tooling Engineer/Manager at Kolkata, West Bengal, India Full Time

Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (Formerly known as Titagarh Wagons Limited) is looking for a Tooling Engineer/Manager for Robot Maintenance & Programming.

Job Responsibilities:

• Define the specific tool and ensure its manufacturing and implementation in Operations.
• Adhere to standards, AT rules, and business targets (EHS, Ergonomics, QCD).
• Conduct tooling costing and manage its lifecycle maintenance costs.
• Ensure tool availability for operations, including calibration management.

Key Accountabilities:

• Identify the need for tooling with the Industrialisation team.
• Evaluate the total cost of the tooling, including studies such as specification and design.
• Analyze the requested tooling and propose appropriate solutions.
• Develop the specification of requirements for the necessary industrial means and tools to execute activities, particularly related to infrastructure, tools, and Capex.
• Design tools or subcontract their production.
• Prepare documented purchase requests, participate in RFQ analysis, and contribute to the business award process with Sourcing.
• Validate the design through design reviews involving relevant stakeholders.
• Validate the tooling during First Article Inspection.
• Monitor the implementation and initial use of the tooling.
• Ensure timely availability of tools for safe operations.
• Build a CAPEX ROI (Return on Investment) when necessary.
• Develop operating procedures for tool usage.
• Specify inspection operations, handling procedures, and maintenance instructions.
• Prepare periodic inspection sheets.
• Manage calibration review processes.

Performance measurements:

• Tooling in production meeting associated QCD targets.
• Adherence to the CAPEX budget.
• Decrease in fixed tooling costs through maximum re-use and long-term strategy.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• Technical education in Mechanics & Automation.
• Proficient in English (reading, writing, spoken).
• Experience working in a Service Site or Production environment.
• Knowledge and understanding of our customers.
• Fluency in the country’s language.
• Background in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, or Maintenance with at least 5 years of experience, preferably in the railway industry.
• Technical experience in Process Manufacturing Engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD.
• Working knowledge of Quality, EHS standards, and Ergonomics.
• Familiarity with common IS tools.
• Conscientious and committed to delivering results.
• Self-motivated, logical, and organized.
• Good communication skills.
