TISS Hiring For Associate Professor at Mumbai Full Time

TISS invites applications for the post of Associate Professor to be
filled on a contract basis.

Remuneration: Basic Pay of Rs. 131400/- (Level 13A as per 7 CPC)

Eligibility Criteria:A Good academic record with a Ph. D. in Political Science or other related areas of Elections Studies
& Electoral Management from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited
foreign university and an active engagement in research with a strong publications record. 

A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading
system is followed) in Political Science or related areas of Election Studies & Electoral Management
from an Indian University or foreign university.

A minimum of eight years of experience in teaching and/or research in an academic/research
position equivalent to that of an Assistant Professor in a University, College, or Accredited Research
Institution/industry with a minimum of seven publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals
and total research score of seventy-five (75) as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC
Notification 2018.

Desirable Qualifications:  Ph.D. in Political Science in the Areas of Specialisation; Democracy, State Politics, Electoral
Institutions, Election Studies, Electoral Behaviour, Mass Politics, Electoral Reforms,
Electoral Education, and Electoral Management. 

Candidates with prior teaching or research or work experience in the development of curriculum
in the field of political science in the areas listed above will be preferred. 

Research and published work in the form of books/monographs/publications in peer-reviewed
journals in the relevant fields. Ability to teach courses with a focus on comparative politics and also facilitate the development of curriculum in the areas of democracy and electoral management.
