1. Build rapport and empath with client. Encourage clients to discuss their emotions and experiences

2. Guide clients through the process of making decisions about their future

3. Help clients develop strategies and skills to change their behaviour and to cope with difficult situations

Measuring the effectiveness of interventions and implementing changes where required

4. Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings, clinician meetings, and workshops to enhance professional development and maintain currency of methodology and techniques

5. Assesses patient progress and modifies treatment programs accordingly; communicates with and counsels family members as appropriate

6. Guide clients through the process of making decisions about their future
