An academic counselor is a professional who provides guidance and support to students to help them achieve their academic and career goals. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Meeting with students individually or in small groups to discuss their academic plans and career goals

● Assessing students’ strengths and weaknesses, and helping them develop strategies to improve their academic performance

● Providing guidance on course selection and course scheduling

● Assisting students with the college application and financial aid process

● Referring students to campus resources and support services as needed

● Providing academic and career counseling to students with learning differences or other special needs

● Keeping accurate records of student progress and interactions

● Collaborating with faculty and staff to support student success

● Participating in professional development activities to stay current on best practices in academic counseling

● Maintaining confidentiality in all interactions with students

To be an effective academic counsellor for SHIELD DEFENCE COLLEGE, individuals should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong understanding of the academic and career development process. They should also be able to work with students from diverse backgrounds and have the ability to empathize and listen to the concerns of others. In some cases, academic counselors may be required to hold a master’s degree in a related field, such as counseling or education.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: ₹15,000.00 – ₹25,000.00 per month
