About The Role

Admissions is on the frontline of our business. The team performs a key role in recruiting high-quality students from around the globe to our university partners in the North America.

Our Application Management Team are responsible for the initial assessment of a student’s suitability, counselling students and agents through the enrolment process and keeping a close eye on the ambitious recruitment targets which we commit to meet each year for our university partners. Our team have a wealth of knowledge about our university partners’ programs, attend to every detail of an application and apply their critical judgement to make the right decisions on which applications are the right ones to submit to our partners. This is all done at speed and whilst ensuring that student, agents, and parents are kept in the loop and receive first-rate customer care.

As Head of Admissions, Canadian Partners, ISC, based in our Delhi office, you will provide the vision, leadership, management, and coordination of Kaplan’s admission services to the University of Victoria and subsequent Canadian University Partners to come.

To do this:

• You will lead the India and internationally based Admissions team to assess and submit high quality student applications to our Canadian Partners, while ensuring industry-leading service levels throughout the student journey
• You will be responsible for meeting ambitious student recruitment targets to the Universities through superior service, close collaboration with the ISC and global recruitment teams, and by identifying and addressing points of attrition in the admissions cycle.
• You and your team will have strong relationships with our partner agents to help identify market needs and trends.

You will report into the Director of Admissions, Kaplan International, based in London.

You’ll be directly responsible for the following:

• Leading, managing, and building an industry – leading team of 9+ Application Officers and Managers in our Delhi and International offices
• Ensuring student recruitment targets are met and recruitment opportunities uncovered.
• Ensuring a first-class experience for students, parents, agents, sponsors, and University staff
• Maintaining high team standards of the set admissions processes and ensuring streamlined operations
• Continual assessment, development, and implementation of areas of improvement within the team, with our service levels and with processes in consultation with the Global Head of Admissions
• Building effective and collaborative relationships with cross functional internal teams including Sales, Global Engagement & Partnerships, Marketing, IT, and other US College teams
• Providing regular management information including performance to SLAs and identification of recruitment risks and opportunities
• Providing market and industry insight and intelligence
• Supporting commercial and strategic recruitment priorities

About You

• Bachelor’s degree.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience leading an admissions team to success
• Strong knowledge of the Canadian education system and the international student recruitment industry
• Target-driven and customer focused.
• Extensive experience using and understanding CRM systems and developing processes.
• Experience formulating and executing department strategy.
• Ability to lead, coach, motivate and inspire staff to be industry leaders.
• Ability to ‘roll with the punches’ and adapt to change easily, leading a team to the same.
• Ability to prioritise and plan work effectively under tight deadlines, and under pressure with competing priorities.
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Excellent team skills and the ability to work without close supervision.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on one’s feet.
• Ability to work flexibly within a matrix reporting structure and work collaboratively with all levels within the organization.
• Excellent negotiating skills with the ability to influence internally and externally.
• Multicultural outlook with a commitment to help international students achieve their study goals.
• Willingness to work flexible hours where required (including early mornings and evenings to maximise international time zone cross over, and some weekends during critical periods)
• Travel required for approximately 2 weeks per year

Desirable:

• Advance training in operations or customer service management
• Extensive experience of operations planning and management in an Education or Training related set-up
