The Data Protection Group drives the product strategy, roadmap, and engineering delivery of the Veritas products, which includes NetBackup, APTARE,  Backup Exec, Enterprise Vault (EV), EV.cloud, eDiscovery platform, and Veritas SaaS Backup.

We are looking for candidates who have experience with storage, security, containers and cloud technology for data protection solution. You should also have an eye for great design and a knack for pushing projects from conception all the way to customers.

In this role, you will design and develop data protection solutions using the latest technologies. You will own product quality and overall customer experience. You will also propose technical solutions to product/service problems while refining, designing, and implementing software components in line with technical requirements.

The Software Engineer will productively work in a highly collaborative agile team, coach junior team members, actively participate in knowledge sharing, all while communicating across teams in a multinational environment.

What you will be doing:

• Learn complex technologies like backup/restore/security/snapshot/replication management quickly

• Identify optimal solutions for complex user scenarios

• Develop, debug, and maintain complex software modules in backup/restore/data protection product on Unix/Linux

• Produce good quality code that is well tested

• Communicate with teams in remote geographies to understand issues or discuss solutions

• Present technical topics in internal and external forums

• Mentor, coach and lead junior software engineers

What skills, experience, and education you need as a team member to succeed:

Education: B.E/ B.Tech /M.E / M.Tech / MCA from a reputed college.
Experience: 2 to 6 years of relevant development experience

• Must have strong C/C++ programming skills

• Must possess knowledge of Algorithms & Data Structure

• Must have strong system level (UNIX System call, socket programming, Win32 APIs, multi-threading etc.) programming knowledge on Unix/Linux

• Must have good analytical skills to debug complex issues using various tools Unix/Linux/Windows platforms

• Knowledge of Security technologies like SSL/TLS, Encryption/decryption algorithm, Secure Communications and Kubernetes, containers etc. is big plus

• Should possess Excellent communication, strong inter-personal skills & comfortable across multiple geographies
