Job Summary:

As the Last Mile City Head, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the entire last mile delivery operations for the city. You will ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of orders while maintaining high service levels. This role requires strong expertise in last mile operations, metrics analysis, and fleet management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Last Mile Operations: Lead and manage city-wide last mile delivery operations, ensuring adherence to SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and optimizing delivery performance.
  • Fleet Management: Oversee the daily management and deployment of the delivery fleet, ensuring efficient vehicle utilization, cost control, and minimal downtime.
  • Metrics & Performance: Monitor and analyze key operational metrics such as delivery time, cost-per-delivery, fleet productivity, and customer satisfaction. Implement strategies to enhance performance.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the last mile operations team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring their alignment with organizational goals.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external fleet vendors and service providers, ensuring contract adherence and optimizing costs.
  • Cost Optimization: Drive initiatives to reduce operational costs while maintaining high service quality and delivery efficiency.
  • Problem Solving: Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions to resolve delivery issues swiftly, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including warehouse, supply chain, and customer support to ensure seamless delivery operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in last mile operations, logistics, or supply chain management, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Fleet Management: Proven experience in managing large delivery fleets, optimizing vehicle utilization, and reducing operational costs.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong proficiency in analyzing operational metrics, identifying trends, and driving data-based improvements.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of handling complex operational challenges.
  • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with last mile logistics software, route optimization tools, and fleet management systems.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
