Selected intern’s day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Serving as consultants with other school professionals, such as food service
personnel, physical education teachers, coaches, and counselors
2. Monitoring immunizations, managing communicable diseases, and assessing the school environment to prevent injury and ensure safety
3. Overseeing infection control measures
4. Participating in school safety plans that address school violence, bullying, and emergencies that may occur at school
5. Overseeing medication administration, health care procedures, and the
development of healthcare plans
6. Providing health-related education to students and staff in both individuals
and group settings
