Job Summary:As a UPSC Faculty member, you will play a pivotal role in preparing students for the highly competitive Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality lectures, designing curriculum materials, providing personalized guidance to students, and facilitating their overall academic and personal development. Your role will involve teaching subjects pertinent to the UPSC syllabus, mentoring students, conducting assessments, and contributing to the continuous improvement of educational programs.
Responsibilities:
Teaching:Delivering lectures, seminars, and workshops on subjects such as General Studies, Indian Polity, Geography, History, Economics, Current Affairs, and other topics relevant to UPSC exams.
Curriculum Development:Developing comprehensive study materials, including course outlines, lesson plans, presentations, and handouts, in alignment with the UPSC exam syllabus.Integrating current affairs updates, case studies, and real-life examples into teaching materials to enhance relevance and applicability.Regularly updating curriculum materials to reflect changes in exam patterns and syllabi.
Mentoring and Counselling:Providing personalised guidance and support to students, including academic counseling, study strategy development, and time management advice.Monitoring students progress and identifying areas for improvement through regular assessments and feedback sessions.Inspiring and motivating students to stay focused, confident, and resilient throughout their exam preparation journey.
Evaluation and Feedback:Designing and administering periodic assessments, mock tests, and practice quizzes to evaluate students, understanding and readiness for the UPSC exams.Analyzing assessment results to identify trends, strengths, and weaknesses among students and providing constructive feedback for improvement.
Conducting one-on-one feedback sessions to discuss individual performance and strategies for enhancement.
Research and Professional Development:Engaging in continuous learning and professional development activities to stay updated with the latest trends, developments, and best practices in UPSC exam preparation.Conducting research in relevant subject areas and contributing insights to academic discourse through publications, presentations, or participation in seminars and conferences.
Collaboration and Teamwork:Collaborating with fellow faculty members and administrative staff to coordinate course schedules, educational events, and student support services.Participating in faculty meetings, workshops, and training sessions to share expertise, exchange ideas, and contribute to the overall improvement of educational programs.
Qualifications:A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., History, Political Science, Geography, Economics, etc.) from a recognized university. A Ph.D. is preferred.
Strong subject matter expertise in topics covered in the UPSC exam syllabus.
Prior teaching experience, preferably in coaching institutes or educational institutions preparing students for competitive exams like UPSC.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Passion for teaching and mentoring students, with a commitment to their academic success.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to the evolving needs of students and educational programs.
