The Data Protection Group drives the product strategy, roadmap, and engineering delivery of the Veritas products, which includes NetBackup, APTARE,  Backup Exec, Enterprise Vault (EV), EV.cloud, eDiscovery platform, and Veritas SaaS Backup.

Veritas is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to join our team.  The candidate should have a strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design patterns, and software development best practices.  The individual should also have strong proficiency in UI/UX design principles and data models (Gen-AI, Analytical-AI), developing both front-end and back-end components of web applications, experience developing front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js, and building and optimizing data models for analytics and reporting purposes.

Qualifications

• Fluency in a modern object-oriented programming language, especially C# and .NET
• Full stack developer with proficiency in UI/UX design principles and data models (Gen-AI, Analytical-AI)
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, jQuery, or Vue.js.
• Experience working with relational databases and SQL
• Expertise in UI/UX design principles and ability to work closely with designers.
• Strong experience with Web services development (SOAP, REST)
• Building and optimizing data models for analytics and reporting purposes.
• Knowledge and experience in developing for highly scalable services
• Knowledge and experience with Windows Server-based services and webapps
• Knowledge and experience with Cloud infrastructure best practices and solutions with large-scale cloud providers, especially Microsoft Azure
• Strong knowledge and experience with cyber security principles and practices, including vulnerability scanning and remediation, firewall configuration, intrusion detection and prevention
• Strong scripting and automation expertise, using PowerShell, Python, or an equivalent language
• Experience working with large-scale enterprise systems
• Experience working with remote teams across the world and time zones
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Ability to create clear, concise documentation and architecture diagrams
• Experience with working in an agile environment

Responsibilities

• Play an instrumental role in building web applications using UI/UX design principles
• Incorporate data models (Gen-AI, Analytical-AI) to generate reports and analysis
• Expertly develop both front-end and back-end components of web applications.
• Use key technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Work closely with designers and product managers to incorporate requirements
• Build and optimize data models for analytics and reporting purposes.
• Ensure software design and code is secure and reliable
• Perform validation and verification testing
• Create clear and concise document and architecture diagrams
• Outstanding communication and presentation abilities
• High quality organizational and leadership skills as needed

Experience

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
• At least 9 years experience developing software with C# and web services (SOAP, REST, HTML, Javascript, Angular, jQuery, .NET)
• At least 9 years experience with Microsoft SQL or MySQL
• At least 5 years experience with Microsoft Azure
• At least 3 years experience with UI/UX design principles
• At least 3 years experience with data models (Gen-AI, Analytical-AI)
