Role & responsibilities

As a study abroad counsellor, you will be responsible for advising and guiding students who are interested in pursuing higher education opportunities abroad. Your role will involve understanding each student’s academic goals, preferences, and requirements, and then providing personalized recommendations for suitable universities and courses in foreign countries.

Preferred candidate profile

1. Student Consultation: Meet with students and their parents to understand their educational aspirations, interests, and career objectives. Provide information about various study destinations, universities, courses, and program options available.

2. Course and University Selection: Based on students’ preferences and academic backgrounds, recommend appropriate universities and programs that aligns with their career goals and interests. Stay updated with the latest course offerings and entry requirements for various institutions.

3. Application Assistance: Guide students through the application process, including filling out application forms, preparing necessary documents, and adhering to deadlines. Assist students in writing compelling personal statements and essays.

4. Visa and Immigration Support: Provide information on visa requirements, documentation, and the visa application process. Assist students in preparing the necessary paperwork and preparing for visa interviews.

5. Scholarship and Financial Aid: Advise students on available scholarships, grants, and financial aid options to support their study abroad journey. Help students in exploring funding opportunities and completing scholarship applications.

6. Pre-departure Orientation: Conduct pre-departure sessions to prepare students for living and studying in a foreign country. Cover topics such as cultural adjustment, health insurance, safety, and academic expectations.

7. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with partner universities, educational institutions, and relevant stakeholders to stay updated on course offerings, entry requirements, and admission procedures.

8. Stay Informed: Keep abreast of international education trends, changes in visa regulations, and emerging study destinations to offer the most up-to-date information to students.
