Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Development: Design and develop Physics assessment items, tasks, and stimuli that align with educational standards and learning objectives.
- Item Review: Review and revise assessment items for accuracy, clarity, and alignment with assessment specifications and standards.
- Assessment Blueprinting: Collaborate with subject matter experts to create assessment blueprints and specifications that guide item development and ensure content coverage.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance checks on assessments to ensure validity, reliability, and fairness.
- Technology Integration: Work with instructional designers and technologists to integrate technology-enhanced items and interactive elements into assessments.
- Research and Development: Stay current with research and best practices in Physics education and assessment to inform the development of innovative assessment solutions.
- Training and Mentoring: Provide training and mentorship to junior assessment developers and content specialists.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including content developers, psychometricians, and project managers, to deliver high-quality assessment products on time and within budget..
Qualifications:
- Masters or doctoral degree in Physics, Physics Education, or a related field. Ph.D. preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in educational assessment development, with a focus on Physics.
- Strong understanding of educational assessment principles, practices, and standards.
- Expertise in Physics content knowledge, curriculum standards, and instructional strategies.
- Experience developing a variety of assessment item types, including multiple-choice, constructed response, and performance tasks.
- Proficiency in assessment item writing and item analysis techniques.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with assessment development tools and technologies is preferred.
- Publications or presentations related to Physics education or assessment are a plus.
