Salary range: 2.4-3 Lakhs/year. OVERVIEWThe position of Junior Document Formatter is a key player at TransPerfect and is responsible for the formatting and recreation of Microsoft or Adobe documents. The ideal candidate for this position is an individual who has strong computer skills that are balanced with experience in type, composition and document layout.
DESCRIPTION Responsible for the recreation or conversion of PDF documents into Microsoft Word for the preflight process to prepare for translation
Assist in proper preflight of files for Project Managers and other Production team members in other offices and time zones to ensure project deadlines are met
Develop a thorough understanding of leading, tracking, paragraph/character styles and fonts
Update and maintain multiple databases to properly track status and time spent on projects
Provide technical support as needed including but not limited to, file format problems, troubleshooting, etc
Using required tools and following required processesREQUIRED SKILLS Must possess a strong attention to detail
Prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to maintain professionalism in all situations under tight deadlines
Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills in EnglishWork well with people from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures, build relationships with co-workers, work as part of a team, and commit to a high level of service
Must be willing to learn new skills, be open to challenges and thrive on successREQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSAdvanced knowledge of MS Office and Adobe software productsDESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE50 wpm typing
Prior translation or layout industry experience
Exposure to Adobe/ABBYY/OCR software
