SCHOOL INTRODUCTION
MISSION
Founded and funded by the Shanghai Education Commission, Minhang District and Qibao Town, Shanghai Qibao Dwight High School is an experiment in implementing East-West cooperative education at the high school level. The mission of Qibao Dwight is to be a model of Sino-U.S. cooperation through the implementation of international curriculum that combines Chinese and Western features.
Qibao High School (Shanghai) and Dwight School (New York) were given the opportunity to come together in pursuit of a learning environment that would fit the changing landscape of Chinese education and serve as a laboratory for the cultivation of internationally-minded students who will be innovators in society. With a joint Qibao High School and Dwight School governing board and rigorous standards across the school upheld by oversight from both schools, we take our role in the ever-evolving landscape of Chinese National education seriously and are deeply committed to what we do.
ADMISSIONS: HIGHLY COMPETITIVE
– Annually, approximately 2,000 students applied for 200 total allocated places. Admitted students are some of the top performing students in China, representing virtually every province.
– No admissions restrictions on nationality or home region of students.
– Each grade is comprised of 120 students from Shanghai and 80 from other areas of China or international.
– Highly selective admissions process with school-based exams in spoken and written English, Math, and Chinese.
– All students interviewed in English and Chinese.
– Small group-work aptitude exercises required as a part of admissions process.
DWIGHT SCHOOL INTERNATIONAL NETWORK
– Global campuses: Dwight School New York, Dwight School London, Dwight School Seoul, Dwight School Dubai, Dwight School Hanoi, Dwight Global (Online campus), and Qibao Dwight.
– Students have the opportunity to participate in a range of enrichment and cultural exchange activities such as a Global Choir Festival in London, a design competition (Sparkathon), a music performance concert at Carnegie Hall in New York and other impactful cultural exchanges.
– Academic term exchanges across the Dwight campuses.
– Dwight New York also serves as key support for teacher training as well as curricular and pedagogical oversight.
DIPLOMAS
Qibao Dwight students have the opportunity to be awarded three diplomas: the Dwight School New York Diploma, Shanghai Qibao Dwight High School Diploma and the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
To obtain a Dwight diploma, students must:
– Successfully complete 10th-12th grades and meet all subject requirements of the Dwight Diploma.
– Graduate as either a full IB Diploma candidate, or an IB courses candidate.
– Receive a final grade of at least 4 for Pre-DP and IB Subjects and 65% per course for Chinese National subjects.
– Participate in official IB Exams.

Shanghai Qibao Dwight High School is hiring a Computer Science teacher to join our team based in Shanghai for a permanent position commencing August 2024.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a school pioneering a Sino-foreign joint high school model with highly qualified western-trained expatriate and local teachers.
I. Scope and Purpose of the Job:
G10 and IBDP Computer Science Teacher in IBDP High School Science Department. A successful applicant must be able to demonstrate the following:
·Preferred experience teaching IB DP Computer Science
·A benefit but not essential if able to teacher in other subject areas (e.g. Math, Physics, etc.)
·A degree in Computer Science or similar field
·A strong commitment to work collaboratively with colleagues
·A willingness to embrace technology and its incorporation into teaching, learning, and administrative work
·An openness to working in a cross-cultural environment
Willingness to participate in relevant administrative duties including a weekly after school workshop, supporting students’ university applications with letters of recommendation, and other key areas of support.
