Name of the position: Coordinator – Secondary Section
Requisite qualification: Post graduation with B.Ed.
Requisite experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience working as a Coordinator for secondary grades from 6th to 10th
Reporting to: Principal of the school
Proposed salary range: INR 50,000-60,000 pm (depending on experience)
Job description:
· To promote and further the holistic education of each student in the school
· To organize, manage and control efficiently and effectively the human, physical and financial resources of the school;
· To ensure, a quality curriculum is designed and implemented at for grades 6 to 10.
· Uphold quality across all processes and programs for grades 6 to 10.
· Develop a schedule for various classes/programs
· Planning and ensuring smooth implementation of lessons, field trips, picnics, events at school, Sports day and Annual day
· Ensuring that the curriculum includes holistic learning activities that take into account the diverse talents and learning modes, abilities and potential of all children in the school, and that tap into the resources of the local community.
· Ensure timely correction of the lesson plan is done.
· Ensure the quality of curriculum developed for various events and celebrations across grades 6 to 10.
· Ensuring the timely implementation of the established disciplinary procedures
· Planning and ensuring smooth implementation of the assessment process. Ensuring timely documentation of the assessment related work.
· Keeping records of all interventions carried out with each student while ensuring confidentiality at all times.
· Implementing an effective referral policy and procedures for students requiring specialized services;
· Provide academic leadership
· Lead and manage teaching and support staff.
· Lead effective communication with parents and other stakeholders.
· Create and oversee a high quality school façade, environment and facilities. Focus on safety, health and hygiene
· Ensuring the compilation and upkeep of statistics for grades 6 to 10, as well as student and staff records
· Coordinate with various other departments in school.
· Conducting classroom observations and maintaining detailed records of teacher performance.
· Conducting weekly planning meeting with teachers of all levels and conducting monthly reflection/review meetings to enhance programme quality along with the school Principal.
· Conducting need based training assessment for teachers, conducting or organizing training for teacher’s professional development.
· Keeping abreast with on-going professional development in educational and administrative leadership and management and nurturing the role of mentors
· Ensuring order and discipline, helping to resolve conflicts, and promoting healthy relationships between students, staff and parents/guardians
· Motivating and supporting all categories of staff with the objective of pursuing lifelong learning opportunities, including career development and progression
· Encouraging and fostering early parental involvement in children’s educational development; while providing staff with a clear direction, encouraging them to seek effective ways of enhancing parental involvement in student’s educational development and curricular activities;
· To upgrade oneself regularly and keep abreast of new developments in the field.
· Encouraging parents to increasingly become aware of their responsibilities towards their children’s well-being and welfare and ensure that they strictly observe the school’s rules and regulations, including those related to punctuality both at the beginning and at the end of the school day.
· To observe, maintain discipline at all times.
· Any other responsibility / task assigned by the higher authorities.
