Main features of the position
We are looking for passionate individuals who can mentor children at Junior environment in our school. This post is based out of our campus located in Coimbatore. Primary function will be support children’s learning in English Language; help foster an inclusive environment, encourage intellectual curiosity and be consistent with the best of Montessori education.
Job Responsibilities
1. To facilitate learning in children of all abilities across ages between 2.5 and 6.
2. To take into account the differing ability lessons of students and differentiate work accordingly.
3. To encourage all students to be actively engaged in their own learning and in reviewing their progress against targets.
4. To ensure safety of children at all times while practicing in designated labs or otherwise.
5. To encourage and foster intellectual curiosity, critical thinking and enquiry in children.
6. To formulate learning plan to cater to the needs of each individual child.
7. To contribute towards development of reusable resources.
8. To participate in events such as webinars, conferences and act as primary liaison.
9. Liaison with the management and other teachers or parents as and when required while maintaining at most confidentiality.
10. Attend teachers’ meetings, parents’ meetings and school events both within and outside campus.
11. Perform such other duties as the teachers and management may from time to time reasonably require.
12. Uphold the well enshrined ethos of our school and the teaching pedagogy.
13. Willingness to attend training courses to reskill, upskill as necessary for work.
14. Maintaining student records, reports, evaluations, inventories.
15. Completing all progress monitoring and benchmark assessments on time as scheduled.
Essential Criteria
• A bachelor’s degree with specialization in English language at minimum.
• Experience of working with young children, preferably within a Montessori environment.
• Personal warmth, patience, tolerance, empathy, understanding and positivity.
• Exceptional self-motivation and sense of responsibility & commitment to children.
• Ability to work both as part of a team and independently, co-operating and working with fellow teachers and parents.
• Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work with both on-line and off-line medium.
• Willingness to explore learn and develop new skills in storytelling, puppetry, finger rhymes, songs and poems for Junior Environment.
• Capacity to be a role model worthy of imitation by children under care.
Preferred Criteria
• Experience of working within a school with multiple learning/teaching pedagogy.
• Montessori Teaching certification or equivalent from a recognized institute of repute.
• Experience in drama, theatre.
• Ability to upskill and reskill rapidly.
