Overview The IBDP English Teacher plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality education and fostering students’ language proficiency and critical thinking skills. They are responsible for creating an engaging and supportive learning environment, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the demands of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) English curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver dynamic and comprehensive IBDP English lessons
- Design and implement effective teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
- Develop and enhance the IBDP English curriculum
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students
- Use innovative instructional methods to promote active learning
- Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and share best practices
- Implement formative and summative assessments to measure student progress
- Support students in developing advanced language and literary analysis skills
- Participate in professional development activities to stay updated with best teaching practices
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Monitor and support student well-being and academic progress
- Participate in school events and extracurricular activities
- Encourage and support student involvement in the broader English-speaking community
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related field
- Teaching certification or licensure
- Proven experience teaching IBDP English or similar international curriculum
- Deep understanding of the IBDP English curriculum and assessment criteria
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for language and literature
- Commitment to fostering students’ critical thinking and analytical skills
- Strong classroom management abilities
