The Context / Purpose of the Job
The role requires driving business excellence in the organization and replicate same in the schools. Preparing organization for next level of business excellence based on TBEM (Tata Business Excellence Model) framework and enabling organization towards world class leadership are important aspects of the role.
For schools, the role is to lead a unique program named ‘Tata Education Excellence Programme’ (TEEP) to improve the quality of education in schools. The program adopted from renowned Malcolm Baldrige model for performance excellence, focuses on engaging with all stakeholders to co-create interventions for School improvement, teaching-learning methodologies, extraordinary learning experience for students etc. leading to adoption of global standards in school education. The schools are assessed annually on the framework and hand-holded on identified gaps. You will be a change leader to improve the quality of educational processes and practices within schools after benchmarking with global perspective making it comparable to the best in the country and globally.
Also, the role requires driving TQM activities across organization through deployment of Daily Management, Quality Management Systems, 5S, Visual Workplace Management (VWM), Green belt and TOC. The role includes support in preparation of external assessments like TBEM and imparting training on various TQM methodologies and tools.

Job responsibilities
a. Overall objective of the role.
1. Drive Business Excellence and Assessment in the organization while ensuring capability building on the subject across the organization. Understanding of different excellence models like EFQM, Deming, Malcolm Baldrige etc. for identifying and driving enablers to enhance organizational business excellence maturity
2. Revisit TEEP assessment framework for simplification, relevance and customization for the different cluster of schools and engage with leading institutions in the country that are working in the field of education excellence
3. Enable internal and external assessment of schools as per TEEP calendar to check progress on adoption and internalization of the education excellence along with annual reward and recognition event for the program. Identify and implement specific interventions aligned to New Education Policy 2020 aimed at driving excellence in the chosen schools.
4. Engage with stakeholders -teachers, principals, students, governing committees – regularly to capture voice and bring about relevant interventions while establishing a vibrant environment through workshops, competitions and trainings and improve program visibility (Newsletter/ Website), brand and satisfaction index
5. Active engagement in departmental cross functional activities in the organization ( application writing, coordinating internal and external assessments, organizing R&R functions, capability building on TQM tools, methodologies etc.)
b. Major tasks & responsibilities
1. Design and develop improvement interventions for schools to drive education excellence (EE)
2. Imparting training on TQM methodologies & tools
3. Drive themes for Assessment preparation
4. Capability Building on BE
5. Design simplified and customized assessment framework and Training of Assessors on same
6. Promotion of TQM practices
7. Enabling conduct of TEEP assessment for schools
8. Developing and managing platforms for Stakeholder engagement
9. Conduct of reward and recognition events for TEEP
10. To ensure safe and ethical work environment.
Skills
Technical Competencies
– Knowledge of business excellence models
– Knowledge education excellence requirements
– Good analytical, report writing and presentation skill
– Strong process orientation
– Knowledge of TOC (Supply Chain), Six-Sigma, Machine Learning, Simulation Techniques and Advanced Analytical Tools
– Knowledge of application of analytical softwares like Statistica, Languages (R/Python)
Experience in the organization with exposure to use of TQM methodologies. Understanding of Business Excellence Assessment models, experience in driving collaborative projects with internal and external agencies, knowledge or inclination towards education & learning management systems. Exposure to school education system, management of schools/education institution is preferred.
Pro-bono work experience / volunteering experience in designing/driving social initiatives is an added advantage.
