Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences (SUAS) is a self-financed University established vide Government of Madhya Pradesh Gazette (extraordinary) No 2 of 2016 dated 13 June 2016, under provisions of the Madhya Pradesh Niji Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam, 2007. Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences, Indore was established with active collaboration of leading industries and Universities from Germany and USA.
With an investment of over Rs 200 crores, Symbiosis has created; a state-of-the-art infrastructure spread over 25 acres. Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences is looking for aspirants for the Director & Professor positions for the following streams.
Science
School of Data Science (CodeS01):
M.Sc (Statistics/ Data Science/ Computer Science)/
M.Tech in CS with PhD in relevant area
Experience:
A) Teaching: Minimum 10 years of teaching experience out of which at least 3 years shall be at a post equivalent to that of an Associate Professor.
B) Research: At least 10 research publications at the level of Associate Professor in Scopus/ SCI journals or Six research publications at the level of Associate Professor in Scopus/SCI journals & Two successful Ph.D. guided as Supervisor /Co-Supervisor.
C) Administrative: At the level of HoD / Vice Principal etc. Shall be responsible for the administration of the school, workload management, enhancement of research of faculty, and establishing industry connect.
Soft Skills: A proven leader, motivator, and dynamic personality with excellent communication and presentation skills. Marketing Skills, workload Management, Candidates with experience in industry/joint projects with corporate consultancy & research projects will be given preference. Working experience in Industry collaboration, network building capacity & administrative skills.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Serve as a liaison among the faculty and students of the Program, the faculty, and the University administration.
2. Effective allocation of workload and timely review & feedback of faculty performance. Overall effective use of skills and knowledge of human resources.
3. Motivate and encourage faculties in quality academic deliverables.
4. Assess and maintain the physical facilities of the Program, including equipment, supplies, and space. Report, to the appropriate university official, maintenance or service required when necessary.
5. Taking complete ownership of school enhancement, admission & placements, school budget, and spending.
6. Coordinate the expenditure of Program funds considering the annual budget allocation for the Program.
7. Chair the activities of Program search committees in relation to evaluations of applicants.
8. Coordinate teaching assignments within the Program and communicate the Program course schedule.
9. Deliver the lectures & practices in the lab for students’ skill development.
10. Coordinate accreditation, program review, or assessment activities required for the Program.
11. Participate in the due process required for faculty, staff, and students as described in University policies or procedures.
12. Promote research activities & quality publications.
13. Maintain Program records, documentation and comply with governing norms (UGC/AICTE/NACC, etc.).
14. Initiate curriculum changes and other activities to maintain a high-quality academic Program. Enrichment of Curriculum as per recent industry needs.
15. Develop/Improve University catalog Program descriptions.
16. Hold Program meetings and maintain minutes of these meetings.
17. Develop a student feedback mechanism and share feedback with program faculties to improve the student learning process.
18. Coordinate the academic advising of students of the Program.
19. Maintain the current course syllabus for the Program.
20. Improving industry reach of in view of program promotion and student placements.
21. Attracting international students and industry collaboration.
22. Improving Industry and Institution relations by promoting Student Internship programs, Inviting Guest lecturers, onsite workshops, industry visits, etc.
23. Organizing seminars, conferences, and training programs for enhancement and promotion activities
24. Encouraging faculty members and students to participate and presentation of research papers in conferences and seminars.
25. Encouraging faculty members for organizing various co-curricular & extra-curricular activities.
26. Support by self and encouraging faculties for university admission.
