Job Role: Subject Matter Expert(English, US Curriculum)

Position Overview:
The Subject Matter Expert (SME) for English Language Arts (ELA) will develop engaging and comprehensive lesson plans and instructional materials for a Grade 3-12 ELA course aligned with the US curriculum. This role requires a strong understanding of literary analysis, writing skills, and effective teaching strategies to foster student literacy and critical thinking.
Key Responsibilities
Subject Matter Expertise:
Conduct thorough research on key literary works, genres, and themes relevant to Grades 3-12 ELA.
Stay informed about current educational trends and best practices in language arts instruction.
Instructional Design and Development:
Create detailed lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and learning objectives.
Develop assessments and evaluation tools to measure student understanding and writing proficiency.
Design supplementary materials, such as reading guides, writing prompts, and multimedia resources, to enhance the learning experience.
Collaboration and Feedback:
Collaborate with curriculum developers, educators, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with educational goals.
Incorporate feedback from peer reviews and pilot testing to refine lesson plans and instructional materials.
Participate in virtual collaboration sessions with the team to discuss progress and share insights.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
Proven experience in curriculum development and lesson planning for English Language Arts.
Strong knowledge of literary analysis and writing instruction.
Experience teaching English Language Arts at the high school level.
Must be comfortable working with AI Tools, and should be open to work on Articulate Rise (training will be provided).
Preferred:
Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
Familiarity with digital learning platforms and instructional technology.
