Academic counsellors, help students achieve their educational goals by working closely with them to select courses, identify strengths, choose a major, and act as a resource until the student graduates.

JOB ROLE:

Assesses student interest, aptitudes, and abilities in order to assist in academic and career planning.

Counsel students in developing a specific academic program including choice of major and course selections

Plans and implements programs to help students with academic and career decisions.

Works closely with other schools and University offices to promote consistency and uniformity of judgments regarding such matters as enforcement of academic requirements, academic probation and dismissal, transfer in or out of programs, and other similar issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred if experience advising and counseling university students.

Freshers also welcome.

Good communication, interpersonal and counseling skills.

Knowledge of academic programs in area to be served.
