Senior Student Counsellor – International Student Admissions 20K Salary + Commissions

A leading UK education consultant having its head office in London looking for candidates experienced in international student counselling. Ideal candidate will be relocated to UK with settlement option.

Position Summary:

As an International Student counsellor reporting to the Manager- International Student Admissions, you will play a key role in counseling and assisting current and future students to suggest the best program and institution backed with a thorough profile assessment. This position is responsible for guiding prospective students through the admissions, deadlines, and the registration process working closely with the visa and documentation team. You have a sound understanding of the UK education system including programs and courses offered for international students. This position provides expertise and guidance in several areas including academic advising, records management, academic support services and student success.

Key responsibilities:

• Identifying and understanding student needs through consultations via phone call, text and email correspondence.
• Providing a personalized and consulting service to all students, assessing their needs, and giving recommendations based on their specific requirements.
• Provides information to prospective international students regarding admission requirements, visa regulations and immigration procedures
• Screens applications and credentials for compliance with admission requirements.
• Monitors international student program seat availability and waitlists students, where necessary.
• Working with prospective students, applicants, and their families to provide high-quality advising on university/school admission requirements, academic programs, and school life.
• Timely follow up with the admissions and documentation team on the application, tuition fee payment and visa status.
• Ensures that filing of student files is kept up to date.
• Maintain a conversion rate on all types of inquiries from lead to a consultation, consultation to enrollment and enrollment to start.
• Accountable for business growth through following up on leads and delivering information to prospective students in a timely manner.
• Call prospective students for updates on providing documentation, transcripts, financing information
• Understands and upholds the confidentiality and privacy of student information and inquiries
• Resolving student concerns in a timely and efficient manner

Requirements:

• A Bachelors degree desired in Business, Education or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of international student recruitment/counseling experience for secondary and/or post-secondary institutions.
• Must have sound knowledge of UK education and student visa process and policies.
• Fluent in English
• Must possess an excellent customer service focus with strong time management, organizational and analytical skills.
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Effective ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experiences, and styles.
• Strong computer proficiency, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word.
• High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
• Patience, a mild temper & good communication skill.
• Closely work with other departments to improve program delivery and to enhance the student experience.
