Job Description It is always welcome to shorten the analysis time related to antenna design, however, the full-wave 3D simulation (CST, HFSS) always takes a considerable time for acceptable performance. In the case of a larger array aperture, it becomes challenging as the simulation time increases exponentially with the scale of the problem, that is, the array’s size. To address this challenge, some researchers have reported that the artificial neural network (ANN) for predicting the antenna performance in terms of radiation patterns, bandwidth response, etc. This concept has been further used for the analysis of an array of antennas. This helps in predicting the radiation patterns as a real-time solution.
This can be extended to analyze the array with different geometric lattices.
Genuinely, there is a large scope for more active research work in this field.
Especially, the Geodesic Dome Array (GDA) analysis will benefit from the scope of machine learning. It is possible to shorten the analysis required for the
Geodesic Dome Array (GDA) using the application of a machine learning approach. Therefore, an attempt will be made to design a novel software package based on AI/ML approaches for the efficient prediction of radiation patterns of conformal array lattices. A major challenge for software design is the time required to collect the input data set for training the machine learning model/network while considering the different parameters such as variation in
the lattice of the conformal array, and the number of antenna elements considered in each lattice including its orientations, etc.
In this ISRO Sponsored project, we would like to develop a software package to predict the radiation patterns of the conformal array antenna while considering different standard geometries. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on CST/HFSS, MATLAB/Python, Antenna design, and analysis.
Essential Qualification BE/ B. Tech/B.Sc and M. Tech/M.E./M.Sc in Electronics and Communication/Electronics/Electrical/Machine Learning/Data Science/Networking/IT with minimum 60% aggregate score
Desirable Qualification Preference will be given to GATE/NET/or any other national exam-qualified candidate. Good profile without GATE/NET will also be considered!
Good communication skills, both in scientific writing as well as presentation
Fellowship Rs 31,000 per month + HRA consolidated as per Institute norms
