Principle Role & Responsibilities: 

A computer lab assistant provides lab users with assistance on hardware issues, installing and using software programs, printing documents and understanding and using certain operating systems.

Academic

• Assist students with the assignments from traditional classroom sections, distance education sections, and lab computer-assisted instruction. Assist students with various software and hardware related questions.
• Configure and maintain computer-assisted instruction.
• Assist students with various software and hardware related questions. Configure and maintain computer application software. Assist instructors with lab orientation for students as necessary.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, ethnic backgrounds of students.
• Instruct students in the proper usage of computer hardware and software. 

Administrative

• Assist with information concerning operation of computers.
• Maintain the lab in a clean and orderly condition, which supports the instructional program and promotes learning.
• Determine supplies, materials, and equipment needs for the lab.
• Assist in training, and overseeing the Lab tutoring personnel.
• Monitor the lab usage and producing reports on a regular basis. Maintain student time on computer and in the lab, prepare records and inform instructors as needed.
• Address problem situations concerning the teachers and their interaction and effectiveness in dealing with students.
• Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the computer science field related to computer-assisted instruction.
• Ensure lab security.

Age: 25 – 40 Years

Experience: 1 – 3 Years of relevant experience. 

Qualification: B. Sc – IT.

Key Skills:

• Proven working experience as a Lab Assistant
• Familiarity with automated laboratory equipment
• Computer literacy and experience with Laboratory Information Systems
• Accuracy and close attention to detail
• Strong analytical judgement.
• Attention to detail and ability to work effectively within a team.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a laboratory environment and a strong commitment to accuracy to ensure the extraction of reliable and valid results.
