Job Description
Role Brief
The Head of Admissions is responsible for managing the university’s admission process overseeing all admission events, and working closely with all relevant stakeholders to meet the university’s admissions objectives, both qualitative and quantitative.
The Head of Admissions reports directly to the Vice-Chancellor, and establishes close working relationships with the School Deans and the Executive Director of Finance & Operations (EDFO) towards meeting admissions objectives, as outlined by the university leadership.

Key Responsibilities of the Role
Strategy
Working closely with the academic leadership, the admissions head will design and execute an effective student outreach and engagement plan across targeted segments and geographies – with the objective of attracting quality applications, and convert them into enrolments in line with the evolving aspirations of the university.
Working closely with the academic leadership, establish the university’s admissions guidelines and processes.
Build strong relationships with pan India school heads/counsellors and student ambassadors to solidify positive positioning and branding of the university.
Develop financial strategies for meeting the admissions objectives.
Operations
Working closely with the Office of Marketing and Communications, develop the annual plan for ensuring the best possible applicant pool for the different programs
Manage and build strategic support partnerships including but not limited to testing agencies
Build transparency around the processes of admission that the University follows.
Represent the university at various important platforms, forums and events to build the brand appeal.
Use social media marketing effectively for Admissions
Work in partnership with the School Deans and Executive Director of Finance and Operations to implement the financial aid policy
Engage in the student recruiting process by planning, coordinating, and overseeing promotional events, campus tours, student interviews, and other admissions activities.
Working in collaboration with the Schools and the Department of Marketing and Communications, ensure high quality promotional materials for all programs.
Oversee and monitor the departmental budget and manage the daily operations of the Admissions Office, including budget, database, files, correspondence, and mailings.
People
Hire, develop and lead a team of resources that delivers on the Admissions objectives
Define and monitor team goals and KRAs
Train and enable the team to help them achieve their goals
Key Skills & Attributes
Extensive experience in the higher education sector, and an ability to operationalize a premium higher education philosophy which is globally benchmarked, nuanced and aspirational.
Understanding of admissions requirements and procedures, and related processes such as scholarships and financial aid
Ability for strategic thinking and pragmatic implementation
Ability to develop strong working relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively, with outstanding written and verbal presentation skills
Ability to work well independently and with a team.
Strong planning, time management, and organizational skills
Ability to multitask during a fast-paced applicant review season
Ability to develop strong and meaningful relationships with faculty, prospective parents, current parents, and volunteers.
Strong understanding of the relationships among the marketing, communication, admissions, and finance functions
Deep understanding of the university’s academic mission and the capacity to communicate the same to a wide variety of audiences
Self-confident, poised, while at the same time empathetic, humble, and respectful
Accountable, honors commitments and is forthright in communication
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree / MBA from a reputed Institution. A PhD will be highly desirable.
At least 15 to 20 years of experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience in heading the Admissions department.
