Job Profile: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) – Chemistry
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Academic Excellence:
- Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive Chemistry lessons for students in grades 9 to 12, ensuring alignment with the curriculum and educational standards.
- Foster a positive learning environment that promotes critical thinking and application of scientific principles.
2. Lesson Planning and Execution:
- Plan, organize, and execute effective lesson plans, incorporating a variety of teaching methodologies to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Utilize technology and interactive resources to enhance the learning experience.
3. Student Assessment:
- Design and administer fair and constructive assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress.
- Provide timely and detailed feedback to students and parents, facilitating continuous improvement.
4. Laboratory Management:
- Oversee the Chemistry laboratory, ensuring safety protocols are adhered to and equipment is well-maintained.
- Facilitate hands-on experiments to reinforce theoretical concepts.
5. Curriculum Development:
- Collaborate with the Science department to contribute to the development and enhancement of the Chemistry curriculum.
- Stay abreast of advancements in the field to incorporate relevant content into the curriculum.
6. Academic Support:
- Provide academic support to students through extra classes, tutorials, and guidance.
- Identify and address individual learning needs to ensure every student reaches their full potential.
7. Co-curricular Activities:
- Participate in and contribute to school-wide events, science fairs, and other co-curricular activities.
- Encourage students to participate in relevant competitions and projects.
8. Parent-Teacher Collaboration:
- Foster effective communication with parents through regular meetings, reports, and updates on student progress.
- Address parental concerns and queries in a professional and timely manner.
9. Classroom Management:
- Maintain a positive and disciplined classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
- Implement and enforce school policies consistently.
10. Professional Development:
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about educational trends, methodologies, and best practices.
- Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance teaching skills.
11. Boarding School Responsibilities:
- If applicable, contribute to the boarding school community by participating in residential duties, mentorship programs, and extracurricular activities.
- Collaborate with housemasters and housemistresses to ensure the overall well-being of boarding students.
