About Shiv Nadar Foundation (SNF) was established in 1994 by Shiv Nadar, Founder of HCL. SHIKSHA Initiative under Shiv Nadar Foundation (started in 2012 to eradicate illiteracy from Uttar Pradesh by creating a model which is easily replicable, scalable and measurable) is working with government schools in Uttar Pradesh with an aim to improve educational standards/learning outcome. Various interventions in this direction are being carried out including ICT content based on the current UPSERT curriculum and tactfully making it more inclusive and interesting for the students.

About the Project

Recently, SHIKSHA Initiative has strategically extended the secondary section of the schools via Project Samriddhi. In this project, the main stakeholders will be girls of standards 6 to 12 in two GGICs of Uttar Pradesh (primarily as a pilot). Through this intervention we plan to work with students, teachers & parents; thereby reducing absenteeism, and dropouts and increasing learning engagement by working on their academic and life skill enhancement.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Competent to teach grade 11-12th Biology, build real-life connections of topics.

Deliver classes through advanced educational means.

Work on holistic development of girls – help in project and group work, hold competitions and Biology based events.

Maintain records of students’ portfolio.

Develop lesson plans for classroom lectures and coursework.

Prepare and support students in learning materials and activities related to the topic/ projects, create a repository of TLM, reference books, etc.

Design engaging exercises for students to practice concepts.

Provide structured and need-based counseling to students and parents.

Assessing students timely through summative and formative assessments, quizzes, projects, group works, etc.

Provide feedback to the program development team for further improvement/ enhancement/ correction.

Participate in annual planning and ensure smooth rollout of plans.

Cooperate and collaborate with other subject teachers for the overall development of students and upliftment of educational standards in school.

Plan exposure visits/ training workshops as per the requirements.

Manage and resolve classroom conflicts.

Any additional tasks will be assigned as per the work requirement.

Educational Qualification:
B.Ed.

MSc in Biology

Skills and attributes:
Knowledge of various teaching methods

Deep subject knowledge

Proficient in reading and writing – Hindi and English

Basic computer skills – MS Office, Exposure to digital teaching platforms

Eager to work with students

Ability to manage tasks independently

Problem-solving ability

Excellent interpersonal skills

A high level of integrity and commitment to quality

A keen learner with an eye for detail

Experience: 2-4 years as a PGT

Salary: as per the experience/negotiable

Preference: female candidates are preferred
