The Role:

As the Senior Director of Product, you will lead JoVE’s product strategy, portfolio roadmap, and execution across our Science Research and Education markets. You will be responsible for shaping the long-term product vision, identifying high-impact growth opportunities, and delivering best-in-class teaching, learning, and research experiences for our users.

This role requires a strategic product leader who can balance customer insight, market trends, business goals, and execution excellence. Responsibilities:

• Define and lead the overall product strategy, vision, and roadmap for JoVE’s product portfolio.
• Lead and mentor product managers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, customer obsession, and data-driven decision-making.
• Identify key customer needs, unmet market opportunities, and growth areas through partnerships with Consumer Insights, UX Research, Sales, Customer Success, and 1st- and 3rd-party research.
• Own product discovery, prioritization, roadmap planning, and execution across multiple product lines or platforms.
• Define, track, and communicate product metrics, delivery KPIs, and business performance indicators.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, customer behavior, and competitive dynamics to inform product strategy.
• Drive innovation by challenging the status quo and influencing cross-functional teams toward impactful product improvements.
• Present product strategy, roadmap progress, customer insights, and business outcomes to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
• Ensure strong product management practices, including discovery, experimentation, prioritization, launch planning, adoption tracking, and lifecycle management.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree
• 10+ years of experience in software or digital product management. 6+ years of experience leading and developing product management teams.
• Proven track record of building, launching, and scaling successful products that have driven measurable business growth.
• Strong experience owning product strategy, portfolio roadmaps, and cross-functional execution in a fast-paced environment.
• Results-driven with an ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Strong analytical skills with experience defining product metrics, KPIs, business cases, and success measures.
• Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence executive, technical, and non-technical audiences.
• Customer-obsessed mindset with the ability to translate qualitative and quantitative insights into product direction.
