Role & responsibilities

KRA OF TEACHERS

Teachers are responsible for educating students in a specific subject or a range of subjects. They play a crucial role in the academic and personal development of students. The specific duties and responsibilities of a teacher may include:

1. Lesson Planning: Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards for the grade level and subject area being taught.

2. Instruction: Deliver effective and engaging instruction to students, using various teaching methods, materials, and technologies to facilitate learning.

3. Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a respectful and productive learning atmosphere. Manage classroom behaviour and discipline as needed.

4. Assessment and Evaluation: Evaluate student progress through assignments, quizzes, exams, and other assessment methods. Provide constructive feedback and grades to students and parents/guardians.

5. Individualized Instruction: Recognize and address the diverse learning needs of students, including those with special needs or learning disabilities. Provide additional support and resources when necessary.

7. Parent-Teacher Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents or guardians, including conferences and progress reports, to keep them informed about their child’s academic performance and behaviour.

8. Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in education and continue professional development through workshops, courses, and conferences.

9. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information. Complete required administrative tasks, such as attendance reporting.

10. Safety and security: In some cases, teachers may be responsible for supervising students during non-instructional times, such as lunch, recess, or field trips.
