Roles and Responsibilities

• Consult and support classroom teachers with implementing school-wide behavior supports.
• Collaborate with teachers, school wide, and assist in lesson planning that may support generalization or acquisition of specific therapy related skills in their classrooms.
• Support the special educator in developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student (related to social/ emotional skills).
• Design child-specific behavior intervention plans in collaboration with relevant team members.
• Implement IEPs, assess students performance, and track their progress.
• Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students progress and goals.
• Proactively communicate with parents, and respond to their queries promptly.
• Discuss student’s progress with parents, teachers, special educators, and administrators.
• Meeting with parents as and when needed to support with behaviors at home.
• Supervise and mentor shadow teachers who work with students.
• Fulfill all PD requirements, including workshops, book clubs, online courses, etc.
• Attend all PLCs spaces i.e. collaborative meetings within department or school as required.

Required Certification/s:

Masters degree in Counselling

Required Skills:

Experience teaching students with special needs is appreciated

English language proficiency
