Specific job responsibilities may include:
- Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in architecture and related fields such as design studios, history and theory, technology and materials, and sustainability.
- Developing and delivering course content, lectures, and assignments that align with the program’s curriculum and learning outcomes.
- Advising and mentoring students on academic and career matters, including course selection, research projects, and portfolio development.
- Conducting research and publishing scholarly work in architecture and related fields.
- Participating in service activities such as serving on committees, engaging with professional organizations, and contributing to the community through outreach initiatives.
- Keeping up-to-date with developments in the field of architecture, attending conferences, workshops, and seminars.
Requirements for this position typically include:
- A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in architecture or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in a specific area of architecture, such as design, history and theory, or technology and materials.
- Teaching experience in higher education, preferably in architecture or a related field.
- A strong record of research and scholarship, evidenced by publications, presentations, and other academic accomplishments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and community partners.
