RV Educational Institutions are inviting applications for NMKRV College for Women for the position of Assistant Professor in Chemistry.
The Assistant Professor’s responsibilities include teaching a requisite number of classes, providing guidance and supervision to graduate students, participating in departmental meetings, and providing academic support to Professors and other faculty members. You should be able to pace your lessons and publish articles regularly.
Applicants should normally have served as an Assistant Professor for at least five years in a pre-eminent institution of higher education and have a strong record of institutional, professional, and community service. An excellent record in teaching and related activities is required along with a sustained, externally recognized record of research and scholarship, including grant capture and high-quality publications.
The Chemistry Department is responsible for the effective development and delivery of the department’s curriculum and advising of department majors. In addition, the department assists other areas of the institution in recruiting new students and participates in faculty and committees. The department focuses on quality teaching and student-centered learning.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1) Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate and/or graduate students on topics such as INORGANIC CHEMISTRY, ORGANIC CHEMISTRY, PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY, etc.
2) Assisting with various departmental duties and providing academic support to professors and other staff.
3) Training, and monitoring new staff and other junior staff.
4) Evaluate and grade students’ class work, assignments, and papers
5) Compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign this work to others.
6) Providing Professors and departmental Heads with feedback on student progress.
7) Attending faculty and departmental meetings and voicing concerns or providing suggestions for improvement.
8) Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction. Advise students on academic and vocational curricula, and on career issues.
9) Conduct research in a particular field of knowledge, and publish findings in professional journals, books, and/or electronic media.
Skills Required:
· Demonstrated advanced level of oral and written communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability to meet required attendance and submission deadlines.
· Demonstrated ability to create, articulate, and assess course learning outcomes.

Preferences will also be given to SC/ST/OBC’s based on merit.
