Position Overview:
This position will include working closely with the program team at the national level as well as at the state level and ensuring that the gender mainstreaming plan for 2024-2025 is completed with quality, documentation of the same is maintained and reflections from all the plotted activities are carried out and fed back into the system. This position will report to Senior Program officer- Gender Mainstreaming.
Roles & Responsibilities
Overall Responsibilities:
Programmatic Understanding and Preparedness

Develop a thorough understanding about the SERI program and its functioning with focus on gender mainstreaming plan.

Understand and learn about the Annual Work Plan existing at the national level and also of 6 SERI states.

Close working relationship and support to SERI-PO-Gender Mainstreaming in working on priority tasks and coordinating with national and state SERI program team.
-
Coordinate between national teams (Girls Education Program, Operations, Instruction Design and Teacher Support (IDTS).) and state teams towards the common outcomes and goals.

Support national teams and departments in monthly activities of critical nature -furnishing details of and support in tracking budget-gender mainstreaming etc.
Planning, coordination and support

Set a schedule of monthly calls with the SERI state team to have reflection meetings.

Provide adequate direction to ensure smooth functioning of the field teams.

Plan and conduct field visits for relevant events, workshops and field level understanding of project.

Support to reporting manager and national team in ensuring key deliverables of gender mainstreaming- landscape study, production of GRT videos, gender analysis of materials.

Assisting field project leaders and managers with development of state reports and other technical writing tasks.

Support and follow up with state teams in their Gender mainstreaming plans of planning workshop and dissemination events.

Any other activities and tasks as and when needed based on the program evolution and contexts.
Reporting and Documentation

Program level process documentation of monthly meetings, learning events and coordinating the same with field coordinators.

Support and provide relevant notes and information to the POS for preparation of case studies and success stories, quarterly, annual for the Gender mainstreaming activities under SERI across 6 states in India.

Support in preparing annual report of the gender lensing engagement under SERI.

Support PO in any collateral development of publishing materials like newsletter, content writing and designing of the organization.

Develop and maintain material repository for the Gender mainstreaming activities.

Create robust documentation and reporting for any other task, activities and processes under the assignment.

Support PO in content development and designing of 6-monthly newsletter and communication material in collaboration with the state and field teams, operations, communications, program and RME teams, etc.
Capacity Building and Training Support

Coordinate with PO on agenda making and Liasoning for national level and state level trainings.

Coordinate with national teams on planning of capacity building workshops and events -Gender mainstreaming SERI.

Sound documentation of the offline and online workshops.

Work closely with PO on any formats for feedback and reflections around capacity building plans of the year.

Coordinate and work with agencies onboarded for critical assignments of the project.
Qualification:
-
The candidate should have excellent writing, reporting and documentation expertise with a minimum of 2-4 years of work experience.

The candidate should have grounding in the work of gender equality, diversity, inclusive development, must have deep understanding of how gender and social stereotypes/bias unfolds in situations, classroom practices, classroom environments, pedagogy, teacher attitude, practices, and school premises.

Ability to work independently and across departments and teams.

The candidate should have experience of working in area of gender and education.

Should at least hold a master’s degree in social sciences.

Should be willing to undertake frequent travel at the project sites.
