Overview:
KanakiaInternational School is seeking an experienced anddedicated teacher to join our dynamic faculty as an MYPI&S, IGCSE History, and IBDP Global Politics Teacher. Thisposition requires expertise in teaching social studies andhistory-related subjects across multiple international curricula,including the MYP, IGCSE, and IBDP. The successful candidate willplay a vital role in delivering high-quality education to ourstudents and promoting critical thinking, global awareness, and apassion for the socialsciences.
KeyResponsibilities:
Plan,deliver, and assess engaging lessons in MYP I&S, IGCSEHistory, and IBDP Global Politics, aligning with the respectivecurricula and learning objectives.
Developand adapt teaching materials, resources, and assessments to meetthe needs of diverse learners.
Stayupdated with curriculum changes and best practices in socialstudies education.
Fostera positive and inclusive classroom environment that encouragescritical thinking, inquiry, and academicexcellence.
Provideguidance and support to students, including academic advising,project supervision, and exam preparation.
Regularlyassess student progress and provide constructive feedback topromote growth and achievement.
Maintainaccurate records of student performance and communicate withparents and guardians.
Ensurethat the IBDP Global Politics program is delivered in accordancewith IB standards and requirements.
Collaboratewith IB coordinators and colleagues to support the overall IBcurriculum.
Participatein professional development opportunities and workshops to enhanceteaching skills and subject knowledge.
Staycurrent with global issues and trends in social studies andhistory.
Collaboratewith colleagues across different departments to createcross-curricular learning opportunities.
Participatein school events, committees, and extracurricularactivities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’sdegree in Education, History, Social Studies, or a related field(Master’s degree preferred).
Teachingcertification and relevant subjectendorsements.
Provenexperience teaching MYP I&S, IGCSE History, and IBDP GlobalPolitics.
Familiaritywith the IB curriculum and assessmentmodels.
Strongcommunication and interpersonal skills.
Passionfor teaching and a commitment to student development.
