Role & responsibilities
Instruction and Lesson Planning: Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment, manage student behavior, and establish rules and procedures.
Assessment and Evaluation: Design and administer tests, quizzes, and other assessment tools to evaluate student progress and understanding. Provide feedback and grades.
Student Support: Offer academic and emotional support to students, identify those who need additional help, and provide or arrange for tutoring and counseling services.
Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents, guardians, and school administration regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns.
Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational trends, techniques, and technology.
Extracurricular Activities: Supervise and/or participate in extracurricular activities such as clubs, sports, and student organizations.
Administrative Duties: Complete necessary paperwork, such as attendance records, grade reports, and progress reports. Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the school’s curriculum.
Mentoring and Collaboration: Mentor new teachers and collaborate with colleagues on best practices and strategies for student success.
These responsibilities ensure that high school teachers not only impart academic knowledge but also support the overall development and well-being of their students.
