We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Editorial Manager to join Ratna Sagar P. Ltd at our head office in Delhi.

As an Editorial Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the editorial process, ensuring the production of high-quality educational materials, including textbooks, digital content, and supplementary resources.

You will lead a team of editors and designers, collaborating closely with various stakeholders to create engaging and informative content that aligns with the company’s vision and objectives.

Responsibilities:

Editorial Planning and Strategy:

  • Develop and execute editorial plans, aligning them with the company’s goals and market demands.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for new publications.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to ensure that editorial content meets customer needs and preferences.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from conception to publication, adhering to established timelines and budgets.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to authors, editors, and designers, overseeing their work to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Regularly monitor project progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement effective solutions.

Content Development and Enhancement:

  • Work closely with authors, providing guidance and feedback to ensure the content aligns with educational objectives and standards.
  • Review and edit manuscripts, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency of content.
  • Collaborate with designers and illustrators to develop visually appealing layouts and illustrations that enhance the learning experience.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of manuscripts, proofs, and final copies to ensure error-free and high-quality content.
  • Establish and maintain editorial style guides, ensuring consistency in grammar, punctuation, and formatting across publications.
  • Ensure compliance with copyright and intellectual property guidelines.

Team Management and Leadership:

  • Lead and inspire a team of editors, authors, and designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, offer constructive feedback, and identify training needs.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate closely with other departments, such as design, production, and marketing, to ensure seamless workflows and successful publication launches.
  • Build and maintain relationships with authors, illustrators, and external contributors, fostering long-term partnerships.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in educational publishing, preferably in a managerial or senior editorial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of curriculum standards and educational requirements for various grade levels.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with publishing software and typesetting principles.
  • Sound understanding of copyright laws, intellectual property, and permissions processes.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, enabling the successful management of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for education and a deep understanding of the needs and challenges of students and educators.
