Job Description: Placement Officer

Overview: As a Placement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in connecting students and graduates with employment opportunities that match their skills, qualifications, and career aspirations. Your primary responsibility will be to establish and maintain relationships with employers across various industries to facilitate recruitment drives, internships, and job placements for our institution’s students and alumni.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Employer Relations:
  • Develop and nurture partnerships with a wide range of employers to understand their hiring needs.
  • Organize employer visits, industry talks, and networking events to foster relationships and promote our institution’s talent pool.

Student Guidance and Support:

  • Provide career counseling and guidance to students and alumni, helping them understand job market trends, industry requirements, and career paths.
  • Assist in resume writing, interview preparation, and skill development workshops to enhance employability.

Placement Coordination:

  • Facilitate the placement process by liaising between students, alumni, and employers.
  • Organize and conduct campus recruitment drives, job fairs, and internship programs.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of student placements, internships, and career outcomes.
  • Generate reports on placement statistics, trends, and alumni success stories for institutional review and accreditation purposes.

Promotion and Marketing:

  • Promote placement services and success stories through various channels, including social media, newsletters, and alumni networks.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to enhance the visibility of our institution’s placement opportunities.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in recruitment, career counseling, or HR management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with employers, students, and alumni.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of career development theories, job market trends, and employment laws/regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with CRM software for managing employer and student databases.
