Qualification

Master’s Degree (The Leadership Standard): typically an M.Ed. (Master of Education) or B.Ed (Bachelor’s in Education).

Professional Experience typically requires 10 to 15 years of total experience in the school system. Acceptable roles include:

• Vice-Principal or Assistant Principal
• Head of Department (HOD)
• Academic Coordinator or Headmistress

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Academic Leadership

• Curriculum Management: Overseeing the implementation of curriculum standards in line with educational boards (e.g., CBSE) and ensuring teachers have the necessary resources.
• Instructional Supervision: Evaluating classroom teaching methods, observing lessons, and providing feedback to teachers to maintain high instructional standards.
• Student Achievement: Monitoring academic performance metrics, standardized test results, and developing strategies to support struggling students while challenging high achievers.

2. Personnel Management & Staff Development

• Recruitment & Hiring: Selecting, interviewing, and appointing qualified teaching and non-teaching staff.
• Performance Evaluations: Conducting annual performance reviews, setting professional goals for staff, and identifying areas for improvement.
• Professional Development: Organizing training sessions, workshops, and seminars to keep faculty updated on modern pedagogy, digital tools, and classroom management techniques.

3. Financial & Operational Administration

• Budgeting & Resource Allocation: Collaborating with the school management committee or board to draft the annual budget, control expenditures, and allocate funds efficiently.
• Infrastructure & Safety: Ensuring the school campus is safe, clean, and structurally sound. This includes overseeing security protocols, emergency drills (fire, medical emergencies), and maintenance of labs, libraries, and transport.
• Daily Operations: Managing school schedules, time tables, exam calendars, and assigning daily duties to administrative and auxiliary staff.

4. Legal Compliance & Governance

• Statutory Records: Maintaining accurate and confidential student records, attendance logs, employee contracts, and financial audits.
• Regulatory Alignment: Ensuring the school adheres to labor laws, child safety legislation, social protection guidelines, and health regulations.
• Board Admissions & Registrations: Managing official correspondences, registration for board exams, and compliance inspections from education ministry officials.

5. Community & Stakeholder Relations

The principal acts as the primary public face of the school.

• Parent-Teacher Collaboration: Hosting Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meetings, addressing parental grievances, and maintaining transparent communication regarding student progress.
• Public Relations: Building a positive reputation for the school within the local community and handling public inquiries or admissions drives.
• Conflict Resolution: Mediating disputes between teachers, addressing serious student disciplinary matters, or managing sensitive complaints with diplomacy.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 – ₹50,000.00 per month
