Role Description This is a remote, contract role for a PC-DMIS Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Instructor. The instructor will design and deliver online training modules and workshops focused on PC-DMIS and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programming and operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing structured lesson plans, creating demonstrations and examples, preparing assessments, and updating course content to reflect current industry practices. The SME will conduct live or recorded sessions, respond to learner queries, review assignments, and provide clear, constructive feedback. The role also involves collaborating with the GaugeHow® team to improve curriculum quality, ensure a strong learning experience, and support continuous enhancement of the training programs.
Qualifications

• Strong expertise in PC-DMIS software, including programming, inspection routines, and troubleshooting, with hands-on experience in CMM operations.
• Practical background in dimensional metrology, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and quality inspection processes in a manufacturing or mechanical engineering environment.
• Ability to design clear, structured technical training content, including lesson plans, presentations, exercises, and assessments for learners at different levels.
• Effective remote teaching and facilitation skills, including clear communication, learner engagement, and the use of online teaching tools or Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex technical topics in a simple, logical manner.
• Self-directed and organized, able to manage schedules, meet deadlines, and coordinate with a distributed team in a remote, contract setting.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Prior experience as a trainer, instructor, or mentor in PC-DMIS, CMM, metrology, or related mechanical skills is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with e-learning best practices, educational content creation tools, and basic video recording or screen-capture tools is an advantage.
