Pathways School Gurgaon is looking for a College Advisor. The candidate should be a Graduate/Postgraduate with relevant experience in College Counselling. The responsibilities include as below:

Coordinate, plan and direct life and career planning activities and experiences for students from Grade 8 to 12. These activities should help students develop awareness of subject choices and possible careers to assist them in the development of their goals, plans and vision for the future.

Meeting students and parents of Grades 8-12 on a regular basis and provided support in choosing subjects, curriculum, courses, colleges and careers in India and overseas. Assisting Grade 12 students with college applications, essays, submission of documents for colleges.

Provide orientation to the various levels of the education system and provide counseling on educational choices;

Provide student success instructions on a variety of topics including study skills, stress and time management and communication skills.

Structure and organize the Work Experience Programme.

Conducting extensive research on courses, subject requirements, application requirements and colleges to assist students in creating a focused list of prospective colleges.

Develop partnerships and collaborative relationships with individuals and agencies in the community and with Admissions Officers in universities. Follow procedures for accreditation with external agencies including College Board.

Offer skills development workshops (such as resume writing, interview skills) and Career Planning Groups.

Organise in-depth self-assessment workshops, including interest and personality testing.

Give information on courses and programs available at university in India and outside, and the entry requirement of these.

Give guidance in identifying appropriate universities to consider and the application procedures with a special focus (though not limited to) the UK, USA, Canada, Singapore and Australia.

Guide students through application process, including advising on the creation of a positive application package.

Helping students in presentations for their college applications.

Guide teachers on reference writing for applications

Organise College Counselling Fairs

Represent the School in various domestic and international counseling conferences and fair.

Liaising with admission officers of various international and Indian universities.

Arranging career counseling workshops of Both Indian and International Universities.

Take responsibility for the submission of all school documentation in support of university applications

Maintain records

Maintain, develop and suitably equip the College Counselling Resource room.

Be available daily for personal appointments

Create appropriate literature for PATHWAYS Gurgaon including School Profile.

Be the main contact point for Alumni students, arrange events, update website and circulate news.

The candidate should be a dynamic, enthusiastic person with the commitment and flair to work with students of all abilities and to carry out appropriate duties within the context of the job, skills and grade. The ideal candidate should be innovative and well organized, should have the capacity to raise achievement through motivating and inspiring students, be competent in IT Skills. Candidates should have effective skills for dealing with students, parents and teachers, and should be a team player, energetic, highly motivated and self-directed.
