Job Title: Assistant Professor

Job Summary:The Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, conducting research, and contributing to the academic and administrative activities of the department and institution. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching excellence, scholarly research, and service.

Responsibilities:

Teaching:Develop and deliver engaging and effective lectures, seminars, and laboratory sessions.
Design course materials, syllabus, and assessments.
Mentor and advise students, including supervising research projects and theses.

Research:Conduct independent research in the relevant field of expertise.
Publish research findings in reputable academic journals and present at conferences.
Pursue external research funding through grants and proposals.

Service:Participate in departmental and university committees and meetings.
Provide academic and career advising to students.
Engage in community and professional outreach activities.

Professional Development:Stay current with developments in the field.
Attend relevant conferences and workshops.
Collaborate with colleagues on research projects.

Administrative Duties:Assist in curriculum development and program assessment.
Contribute to the department’s administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• M.E/M.TECH/M.Sc/M.A/M.Phil/NET/SET or terminal degree in the relevant field.
• Demonstrated expertise and a strong research track record.
• Evidence of effective teaching and a commitment to pedagogical innovation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the academic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous teaching experience at engineering college or university level.
• Experience securing external research funding.
• Membership in relevant professional organizations.
• Interdisciplinary expertise or the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
