Advertisement for the Post of Guest Faculty one (01) in the Department cum National

Centre for Human Genome Studies & Research, Panjab University, Chandigarh

Walk in interview for appointing one (01) Guest Faculty (Assistant Professor) to teach odd

semester of the academic year 2022-2023, for a period of (August, 2022 to December, 2022),

will be held on August 17, 2022 at 02:30 p.m. in the library of the department .

All the applicants are advised to bring their original certificates and other relevant documents

for verification along with the duly filled form giving the details at the time of interview. The

is to be submitted in the office of the undersigned on the date of the interview along with

photocopies of two set of attested certificates and other supporting documents.

The above assignment will be on lecture basis with a token honorarium of Rs. 1000/- per

lecture with an upper limit of Rs. 25,000/- per month. The candidate shall have to give an

undertaking that he/she will not draw any fellowship stipend or any financial assistance from

any agency till they are teaching in the Department cum National Centre for Human Genome

Studies and Research, Panjab University, Chandigarh as Guest Faculty. The candidates who

are already availing JRF scholarships in the University are not entitled for the honorarium but

they will be issued experience certificate for the Guest Faculty.

Essential Qualification:

Master’s degree in Human Genomics/Human Genetics/Biochemistry/Genetics/Life Sciences

or allied subject with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in appoint scale wherever grading

system is followed) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited

foreign university. A relaxation of 5% shall be provided for the candidate belonging to

Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Differently-abled/Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Non-

creamy Layer)/Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19

September, 1991.

Desirable Qualification:

• Ph.D. in Human Genomics/Human Genetics/Biochemistry/Genetics/Life Sciences or

allied subject.

Besides fulfilling the above qualification, the candidate must have cleared the National

Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC

like SLET/SET or candidate who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance

with regulation of the University Grants Commission. Provided further, candidate registered

for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of

NET/SLET/SET subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:-

a) Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only.

b) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners.

c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate had been conducted.

d) Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least

one must be in a refereed journal.

e) Candidate has made at least two presentations in conference/seminars, based on his/her

Ph.D. work. (a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Registrar/Dean (Academic Affairs).

Note: No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
