Key Responsibilities:
- Counseling Students: Education counselors work one-on-one with students to help them identify their interests, strengths, and weaknesses and to develop a plan for achieving their academic and career goals. They also provide support to students who are struggling academically or socially.
- Career Guidance: Education counselors provide students with information on career paths, job prospects, and the skills needed to succeed in various fields. They may also help students with job searches, resume writing, and interview preparation.
- College Admissions: Education counselors assist high school students with the college admissions process, including selecting colleges, completing applications, and preparing for college entrance exams. They may also provide guidance to students seeking scholarships or financial aid.
- Communication: Education counselors must communicate regularly with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to ensure that students are receiving the support and resources they need to succeed.
- Program Development: Education counselors may also develop and implement programs designed to support student achievement, such as study skills workshops, career fairs, and mentoring programs.
