Orchids International School is seeking a passionate and experienced Drama Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. The Drama Teacher will play a vital role in fostering creativity, self-expression, and confidence in our students through the exploration of the performing arts.

As a Drama Teacher, you will have the opportunity to develop and deliver engaging drama lessons that inspire our students to express their ideas and emotions through acting, improvisation, and scriptwriting. You will work closely with students to develop their performance skills, enhance their understanding of characterization and stage presence, and create memorable theatrical experiences. This position requires a strong commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages collaboration and experimentation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality drama lessons that cater to a diverse range of students’ needs and abilities.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes creativity, self-expression, and confidence.
  • Teach students acting techniques, improvisation, stagecraft, and other drama-related skills through a variety of engaging and practical activities.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to incorporate drama into cross-curricular projects and events.
  • Assist students with script selection, rehearsal, and performance preparation for school productions.
  • Provide constructive feedback and evaluation to students to support their growth and development as performers.
  • Organize and supervise extracurricular drama clubs, workshops, and performances.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Drama, Performing Arts, or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching drama to students in a school or community setting.
  • Strong knowledge of acting techniques, drama theory, and dramatic literature.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Passion for drama education and a commitment to nurturing students’ creativity.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of various learning styles and abilities.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with students, colleagues, and parents.
