Job Title: Safety Officer

Experience: 5-6 Years

CTC: 4.5 LPA

Location: Uttarakhand – Pantnagar

What you will learn and contribute to (Key Responsibilities):

• Intermediate knowledge of Word/Excel/PowerPoint.

• Intermediate knowledge of Analytical Tools.

• Working knowledge of safety laws, particularly safety standards ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015

• Analysis and identification of risk trends, problems, and solutions.

• Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely using appropriate mediums (for example, face-to-face, e-mail, and presentations), listen effectively, demonstrate understanding, and clarify meaning for others.

• Ability to analyze, define, diagnose, and resolve problems based on sound logic and rationale.

• Ability to develop, coach, and mentor others including the ability to provide development experiences and network opportunities, advise, and teach to prepare others for effective job performance.

• Ability to interact cooperatively and collaboratively with others as a team, including those holding divergent and/or opposing views and goals.

• Understand and apply meaningful operations and safety performance metrics.

• Ability to plan and execute events, safety meetings, accident review meetings, and safety celebrations.

• Possess extensive knowledge of Motor Vehicles Rules, Warehousing rules, Factories Act, National building codes, Fire safety Rules, Petroleum rules, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, etc

Critical Competencies:

Ensuring compliance of local regulations regarding transportation and workplace safety.

• Reviewing competency structure for drivers, MHE operators, and Warehouse operation.

• Assuring drug and alcohol program is compliant with regulations with respect to transportation.

• Work with maintenance vendors to ensure PM compliance.

• Regular audits of the workplace

• Monitor site safety performance as per ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015

Overseeing and implementing the elements of an OMS. Including coordination of reporting, investigation, documentation, and management of incidents.

• Review accident file contents for accuracy and documents needed.

• Gatekeeper for accident-preventable decisions.

• Assure proper accountability is delivered for preventable accidents.

• Maintain Warehouse and logistics -comprehensive & and accurate monthly report containing appropriate matrices.

• Provide monthly scorecards which include safety statics and activities.

Developing materials and conducting training for drivers in the implementation of the Transportation Safety Management System

• Assure in-vehicle driver training is completed with every active driver.

• Assure load securement training is completed with every active driver.

• Assure all active drivers are trained in proper mirror placement principles.

• Assure all active drivers are trained in close-quarter maneuvering principles.

• Assure all MLL Safety standards are in place.

Mentoring competency in safety management practices, protocols, and procedures

• Create an overall Defensive Driving Training compliance

• Communicate the accident management protocol for Warehouse and Logistics for area and local managers.

• Drive the safety standards at the site.

• Ensure safety and legal compliance at the site.

Qualifications:

ADIS Certified, Bachelor’s in Engineering.
