NMIMS Hiring for Teaching Fellow – SBM – Communication at Mumbai, Maharashtra, IN Full Time

SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Deemed to be University, a trendsetter & frontrunner in professional education, invites applicants for the Faculty Positions in Management Courses.

The candidates with industry experience and scholarly aptitude to handle courses in Communication area are encouraged to apply.

The candidates must possess relevant industry experience and preferably with a Ph.D. qualification.

The candidates with academic experience must have a proven track record of teaching Communication in Postgraduate Programs in Management.

The candidates with industry experience along with exposure to teaching, without Ph.D., will be considered for an Adjunct position.

Qualifying Criteria – PROFESSOR:

a. The candidate should be a Ph.D. with First Class (or an equivalent grade on a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in a Master’s Degree in Business Management / Administration / in a relevant discipline.

AND

Minimum 10 SCI Publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals

AND

Minimum Research Score of 120

AND

Successfully guided at least 2 doctoral candidates.

b. Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in teaching/research/industry, of which at least 3 years shall be equivalent to Associate Professor.

OR

In the event, the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:

i. A Ph.D. Degree with First Class (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in Master’s Degree in Business Management / Administration / in a relevant discipline

OR

ii. A Ph.D. Degree with First Class (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in two years full-time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU / recognized by the AICTE / UGC.

OR

iii. First Class graduate and professionally qualified Chartered Accountant / Cost and Works Accountant / Company Secretary of the concerned statutory body.

AND

iv. The candidate should have professional work experience which is significant and can be recognized at the national / International level as equivalent to Ph.D. and 10- 15 years’ managerial experience in the industry should be at the Senior Managerial level in a large Organization/MNC/Conglomerate.

c. Published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work in the peer-reviewed or UGC listed Journals. Published work may include books, Research Periodical, Ph.D. guidance, Consultancy projects, and patent filed.

Qualifying Criteria – ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR:

a. The candidate should be a Ph.D. with First Class (or an equivalent grade on a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in Master’s Degree in Business Management / Administration / in a relevant discipline.

AND

Minimum 7 SCI Publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals

AND

Minimum Research Score of 75

b. Minimum of 8 years of full-time experience in teaching/research/industry out of which at least 3 years shall be Post Ph.D. experience.

OR

In the event, that the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:

i. A Ph.D. Degree with First Class (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in Master’s Degree in Business Management / Administration / in a relevant discipline

OR

ii. A Ph.D. Degree with First Class (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in two-year full-time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU / recognized by the AICTE / UGC.

OR

iii. First Class graduate and professionally qualified Chartered Accountant / Cost and Works Accountant / Company Secretary of the concerned statutory body.

AND

iv. The candidate should have professional work experience which is significant and can be recognized at the national / International level as equivalent to Ph.D. and eight years of managerial experience in the industry should be at the Senior Managerial level in a large Organization/MNC/Conglomerate.

c. Published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work in the peer-reviewed or UGC listed Journals. Published work may include books, Research Periodical, Ph.D. guidance, Consultancy projects, and patent filed.

Qualifying Criteria – ASSISTANT PROFESSOR:

a. Ph.D. is mandatory with a minimum of 55% in Master’s Degree in Business Management / Administration / in a relevant discipline.

AND

b. Minimum 2 SCI Publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals

OR

First Class graduate and professionally qualified Chartered Accountant / Cost and Works Accountant / Company Secretary of the concerned bodies.

c. Without prejudice to the above, the following conditions may be considered desirable :

i) Ph.D. preferred with 2 years of experience.

ii) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or any similar agency.

Published work may include books, Research Periodical, Ph.D. guidance, Consultancy projects, and a patent filed.

Pay Scales: As per UGC guidelines; but will not be a constraint for the right candidate.

The School of Business Management (SBM) of the SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed to be University (as per UGC Norms) has long been a leader in management education. Apart from offering various programs for students, the School also offers executive education programs mapedir training working professionals, who want to make the key transition in their lives.

The Dean is the operational head of SBM. Along with his faculty team he decides the goals, strategic operations and plan of action for the school, keeping in mind the overall vision, mission and goals of the university. He is supported by Heads of Departments (HoDs) and Chairpersons for various areas, together with the Course Coordinators for the smooth running of various programs. The Dean is responsible for all academic matters like building a learning climate, students’ learning and development, curriculum development, faculty selection, assessment and development and program delivery. Besides, he also leads placement of the graduates, development of research, executive education, international linkages, creation of brand image and other quality measures for the SBM. The Dean is a member of all the statutory committees of the University.

Each teaching area has a Board of Studies headed by its HoDs or Chairperson. It comprises of members from the industry and academia. The objectives of these boards are to review the curriculum and syllabus, suggest courses, text books and other measures to meet the demands of students, industry and other stakeholders.
