Job Description – Software EngineerPosition: Backend DeveloperDepartment: Technology TeamReporting Hierarchy: This role would report to the VP Of TechnologyResponsibilities In The Role

• Build new features across our Mobile, Web apps and Website.
• Own the backend delivery end to end from planning todesign to doing development (and eventually getting it delivered effciently).
• Build and maintain in current backend stack (Ruby On Rails) and evaluate and eventually build in alternative back end technology (for example NodeJS).
• Architect elegant and maintainable code with a focus on autonomy, performance and security.
• Collaborate with other stakeholders to deliver meaningful projects that allow for users to have more delightful experiences.

Requirement Speci cations

• 3+ years experience in backend development (we primarily use Ruby on Rails however looking to evaluate alternatives from our needs perspective).
• Experience in writing Graphql APIs is a plus
• Pro ciency with SQL, database design and development
• Experience building and shipping product features
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure, cloud based services such as AWS and GCP is a plus
• Experience working with other engineers, and designers and non-engineers.
• Experience making hard trade-offs between important goals to get the right things built quickly.
• A collaborative culture where growth from within is encouraged.
• Good logical and analytical thinking (and willingness to improve).
