Job Title Editor/Content Writer/Proofreader Reports To The Editor/Content Writer/Proofreader will report to HOD (Editorial). Job Overview We are a reputed childrens educational books publishers. Our growing publication is searching for an experienced Editor/Content writer/Proofreader to join our creative team. Your ultimate goal will be to provide exceptional, informative, and appealing content to attract our targeted audience and build customer loyalty. You will perform a range of tasks including evaluating proofs, setting publication goals, designing content, and generating story ideas. Responsibilities and Duties Ensure that each book is grammatically correct, logical, well-structured, and coherent. Prepare, rewrite and edit content to improve readability while adhering to inhouse style guidelines. Check the text’s references, journal abbreviations, and style reference list. Raise queries to the author regarding these and incorporate changes accordingly. Make comprehensive changes to reflect consistency across the description. Review and approve content. Qualifications Education level: Graduated/Post-graduated from any recognized University (Strong academic credentials required) Experience: More than three years experience in an editorial role. Specific skills: Good vocabulary and grammar to communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the books, an eye for detail. Knowledge of proofreading techniques and symbols Basic knowledge of editorial processes and book publishing Basic knowledge of computer Language Expert: English Personal characteristics- Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proven experience in team and time management Ability to respond flexibly to changing priorities Ability to follow strict deadlines
